Have been to other Opals in the US our last trip was Clearwater FLa and that was so worth it. I’ve stayed in other places in the Keys and overall, this is one of the best. The staff I encountered always had a smile and an apparent genuine interest in helping guests enjoy their stay. Finally, my experience with the hotel staff was consistently positive during my stay. A fresh, sealed bag with slippers will keep your feet warm and luxurious bathrobes are provided for you during your stay. Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are also provided. I was grateful to find a real bar of soap waiting for me in the shower along with an amenity kit that included a nail file and Q-tips. The hotel room itself was well appointed with attention to comfort details including a Nespresso machine for delicious morning coffee and a mini-fridge to keep your cold waters. But you’ll likely not be in the room during those hours as there is much to do and see in Key West. Note that a cruise ship docks in front of the hotel and will block your views from about 8AM to 6PM (when it departs). The King bed waterfront room had a view of the boardwalk area, the ocean, and Sunset Key.
